Boston, MA – Paul Weddington Sentenced to 12-Years in Prison For Child Pornography Offense
Boston, MA (June 30, 2022) – The Department of Justice confirmed that 51-year-old Paul Weddington was sentenced to a total of 12 years in prison and five years of supervised release after being convicted of a child pornography offense.
Reports provided by authorities show that in November 2020, Nichole Cyr was arrested for child exploitation offenses after material surrounding child sexual abuse, including videos and images, were located on her cell phone. Upon further analysis of Cyr’s phone, authorities discovered conversations that she had with Weddington. The conversations depicted the sexual materials of two children, ages two and seven, being exchanged between the two parties.
As a result of the investigation, authorities seized Weddington’s phone and conducted a search of his residence in February 2021. On Weddington’s cell phone, authorities located several screenshots of an apparent video chat that he had with Cyr in which the sexual act’s material involving the two-year-old child was displayed.
Weddington was taken into custody and subsequently pled guilty to one count of receipt of child pornography.
On June 28, Weddington was sentenced to 12 years in prison and five years of supervised release.
The remaining defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law. At this time, investigations are ongoing.
